“Desire”: An experimental video created in isolation and recognized internationally
From filming during lockdown to being selected for festivals in Venice and London, this piece offers an intimate visual study of desire, silence and transformation.
The video work “Desire” was created in 2020, in the context of the global pandemic, as an introspective exploration of psychological tension and inner impulses that surface in moments of isolation. It premiered at the Fonticus Gallery in Grožnjan, curated by Eugen Borkovsky.
The piece soon attracted international attention and was presented at the ANIMA MUNDI exhibition in Venice and at the London Contemporary festival. Its minimalist visual language, focused on movement, light and fragmented gestures, marks Restović’s return to experimentation and affirms the work as an important contribution to contemporary video art.
